On our 38th Anniversary
(to be recited with a Scottish accent)
November 2022
It’s been 38 years since we truly set sail,
But closer t’forty I knew ye.
When first did the willow sit strong in love’s gale,
Her long hair cascading onto me.
We’ve had mostly fair weather, some more less with ale
And fun times that were outright boomy!
There’ve been stormy seas also, and times bilge to bail,
But we made it thus far, us two we.
We raised three mighty children to tell their own tale,
More to your credit than to me.
Our story’s not finished, but may fates avail
Still more loving life be due we.
May time’s rhythm and rhyme help our love to prevail
With my thanks for everything to thee.
