COVID-19 continues to ravage humanity in late 2020, particularly in the United States. What the US is currently doing to control the SARS-CoV-2 virus and pandemic is not working, and widespread vaccination remains distant. The protocol described in this article could hypothetically decimate and then control the virus. The plan complements but does not depend on future vaccination against COVID-19. The centerpiece of the plan is a single month involving repeated population-wide testing, quarantine of infected individuals, and sheltering in place of all others. The goal is to deny this coronavirus any place to live and propagate. Implementation of the protocol in the US will be challenging and expensive, but much less so than the ongoing failure to control the pandemic.
